Our Story

Since 1944 Connie’s Family Restaurant has been serving our customers and the community from the same location in the wonderful City of Berwyn. 

Started by Connie and John Kallas as Connie’s Snack Shop and Johnny’s Bar many changes have happened throughout the years but our commitment to provide a quality product in a friendly and clean environment has not changed.  Generations of customer’s have walked through and still come through our doors, which is fitting as our story spans over many generations of family as well. 

Hiring their nephew Bill in 1968, everyone from the same village in Greece is related, Bill not only ran the kitchen but formed many long term friendships that till this day everyone who want’s to hear a story can.  In 1978 after getting married, Bill and his wife Toula took the plunge and bought what was still known as Connie’s Coffee Shop, years of hard work growing a business while raising a young family they again took the chance and invested all their money in a remodel in 1988 to create what we have today. Decades later, their son Andy after being away from the family business came back to where he first started. 

Since then Connie’s has expanded with our Event & Party Room, as well as offering full offsite catering services.

The one thing that will never change is our commitment to you!  Our customers are like family to us and we will always strive to make you feel that way.  Thank you for the incredible support and for the many friendships we have gained over the years.
